There is a leader inside each of us!

Quest Camps is proud to offer the Quest Leadership Academy.  For Summer 2024, Quest’s Leadership Academy will be a 4-week, in-person program for campers ages 11 to 18.

The Leadership Academy program provides instruction specially designed for accelerated Quest campers and high school students desiring community leadership opportunities!

Empowering Role Models

The Leadership Academy selects leaders who want opportunities to lead, help at camp, be a role model, and desire to learn while having fun.

Our Quest Leaders must demonstrate a high-level of role model behaviors to secure a space in the Leadership Program.

Uniquely Structured

Our Leadership Academy program is designed to empower Quest campers while specifically tailored to their unique needs, which may be presented by issues such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), high-functioning Autism (previously Asperger’s Disorder), learning disabilities, mood disorders, depression, social anxiety, etc.

* Entry into this program is based on staff decision regarding readiness. Teens who are not previous Quest attendees must complete an interview and possibly provide references.

Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

Quest is adapting pieces of the research regarding emotionally intelligent leadership such as Consciousness of Self, Consciousness of Others and Consciousness of Context.

Consciousness
of Self

Emotion regulation, Cognitive flexibility, Optimism, Initiative, Achievement, and more!

Consciousness
of Others

Empathy, Inspiring others, Building relationships, Managing conflict, and more!

Consciousness
of Context

Interpreting group & external forces and more!

Since Quest already provides training in the large majority of these areas through Quest’s Therapeutic Model, the Leadership Academy will continue to round out growth edges for our leaders in these areas and then more specifically apply these areas to the context of leadership and further hone individualized strengths.

Small camper to staff ratios

Professional Staff to Leadership Academy Camper ratio will be 8:1

10 Individualized Goals

7 personal goals/3 set by staff
Goals Groups are held once per week

Academy Groups

Leaders have a minimum of 1 leadership group per day.

The rest of the camp day members are spread across camp to assist staff and interact positively with campers.

Friday field-trips will be a mix of time spent in connection with others in the Leadership Academy, assisting staff and interacting with campers.

Home Goals

Quest Leaders are provided with tailored home goals to continue growth in the home environment.

Leaders will receive feedback points at home and through weekly goals group instead of hourly points.

Special incentive and recognition programs will be offered for our Leaders in addition to the Camp Store.
